I'm being honest, this basically replaces the iPhone Plus model. This year,
there's no Plus in the iPhone 17 series. This is the 1st generation of iPhone
Air. But this is all about the iPhone Air.
I'm going to tell you everything about it. How's the battery life? Performance?
Display. This is slim. It's 5.64mm thin & very thin.
Right up front, there's the phone.
And as soon as you take it in your hand, you're going to say wow! I mean, we'll
talk about the in-hand feel. USB Type C to Type C cable. You don't even have a
sim card tool.
Do you know why?
Because this is only the eSIM model.
Yes, they've saved the space for the sim card & increased the battery. You
don't even have a sim card tool.
Do you know why?
Because this is only the eSIM model.
Yes, they've saved the space for the sim card & increased the battery. Otherwise,
the battery won't be there. So they've used the eSIM. This is the iPhone Air's
battery & it's very important. But let's look at the phone first.
The display size is also very interesting.
Generally, we've seen 6.3 & 6.9 inch iPhones & this one has a 6.5 inch
display. This is a white colour & it comes in 4 colours. There's blue,
black & one more colour. And they've managed all the ports & buttons.
If I talk about the ports, look at this USB Type C port. It's literally edge to
edge. They've used 3D printed titanium in it. they showed 50-50 kgs of load on
both sides. there should be absolutely no doubt in your mind. There's a ceramic
shield at the front & back.
There's a glass at the back & the frame is Grade 5 Titanium. If I talk
about weight, this is 156g as mentioned in the briefing. Let me show you.
165.7g.
It's very light & lightweight.
Let me show you the battery pack.
You must buy this as its capacity is equivalent to a phone's battery.
3149 mAh.
3149 mAh, yes!
it doesn't feel heavy & doesn't feel like a power
bank. It still feels quite good in hand. It feels very nice in hand to be
honest with you.
Slap this. It feels very nice. The USB port in this phone is USB 2.0.
So keep that in mind. All the buttons are present.
There's an action button, a camera control button, a power on & off
button. This is an eSIM only model.
Let's talk about the display.
It's as bright as the Pro.
It's a 6.5'' ProMotion display with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate.
It has a 3000nit peak brightness.
It's a very bright display & the bezels are absolutely thin.
Look at this display, it's a beautiful display. But the performance is similar
to the Pro Max.
But there's a caveat. You get an A19 Pro chipset & 12GB RAM. It's an
absolutely great performance. You get 5 cores in the GPU & 6 cores in the
Pro Max. And Apple has done a lot of things to increase the battery efficiency.
So one of the things is that it has a 5 core GPU & that's why it has less
battery. After that, they've added a C1X modem which uses 30% less battery. I
don't understand, if it uses less battery, why didn't they add it in the Pro
& Pro Max models. But it went up to 43-44 degrees, so it gets warm. But the
combination of iOS 26 & A19 Pro hardware & software, it's a beauty! In our tests, Apple says that you get a 27
hour video playback time. And if you compare, the iPhone 14 Pro had a 22 hour
playback time & this has a 27 hour playback time.
So even though the battery is small, it's just a 3149mAh battery.
In our tests, we got a 4.5-5 hour screen on time.
Which is good for the capacity as the hardware & software optimisation is
amazing. Connectivity wise, it has all the connectivity options.
Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, all 5G bands are supported.
For Wi-Fi, Bluetooth & Thread Networking, it has an N1 chipset.
It's used for C1X cellular network which uses lesser power.
And the N1 chipset has more benefits. For eg, when you do an airdrop, it'll
become faster.
When you do a hotspot, the data speeds will be faster thanks to N1. Now, let's
talk about the cameras.
There's a single 48MP Fusion camera at the back.
And there's an 18MP Selfie Center Stage camera at the front. Even with that
single camera, you can shoot videos in 4K 60fps, front, back, Dolby Vision, HDR
etc.
We've shot still photos & videos, so do check them out. After that, there's
a big display with a big battery.
And then you have Air, these thin models.
They have a small battery capacity but they're very thin & light.
