 hey everyone Tim Affan here and it's time for one plus's next flagship phone and this is the 12 they don't name it Pro Ultra because this is the only phone they release so it makes sense to just go by number the OnePlus 12 now this really does have Flagship specs it has the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 gen 3 processor a triple camera setup that looks really promising OnePlus has been doing a really good job with their camera system lately and it's in partnership with hosel blood on top of that you have a 14 40p 120 HZ AMOLED display you have some new color options I'm excited to see the emerald that they sent over but anyways we're going to take a quick look what comes in the box of the 12 and then of course get some hands on with this new flagship from OnePlus let's get started here is the 12 from OnePlus in their signature red color in collaboration with hustel blad opening the box on the inside of the top is a quick little thank you says thank you for a decade together oh and that's really cool uh if you can pause it if you'd like to but there's a list a full list of usernames that are part of their community so that's a really neat shout out drop a comment if you are on the bottom of the box here that's really cool from OnePlus standard Sim injection tool quick start guide safety guide a welcome note so hi from the founder of OnePlus you can pause and read that if you'd like to but also the membership card so a red cable club membership card inside the Box Plus finally a USB type-c male to USB type a female adapter inside next up is the OnePlus 12 which will set to the side for a second build just a little bit of suspense and see that we get a charging brick and cable so a fairly large charging brick but it does charge really quickly via USB type A and if you look it's their Super V vuk which I think it says 100 W Max charging speed plus their signature red and white cable USB type A to USB type c and again they did go with USB type A but it's nice they did include an adapter if for whatever reason you need to use this cable and only have USBC connections maybe in your laptop and on to what you came to see the 12 from OnePlus in that flowy Emerald color it looks wow really good I was expecting a more glossy look but it actually is kind of matte you can tell with the reflection it doesn't really shine really bright it's kind of a nice uh marble green style color it might match maybe your kitchen countertop if it happens to be marble I have to say it's really unique and I like it quite a bit so we are going to power on the OnePlus 12 for the first time and while this phone boots up we're going to take a closer look at the overall Hardware down at the bottom is our SIM card slot microphone USB type-c port and one of the speakers moving along on the right side here is where the power button is below those two volume rockers uh want to point out that the camera module itself is actually somewhat minimal especially you know when you put it in side by side with the OnePlus open it doesn't I guess it's pretty similar overall in terms of protruding out from a specific uh side anyways continuing on up towards the top here we have a microphone I believe that's an IR blaster which you very rarely see nowadays and then just another slot here for our speaker and then let's flip it over taking a close look at that Emerald color with the OnePlus logo and here is our camera system I'm really excited to take some pictures with this camera system OnePlus has made their cameras better and better every year so the main sensor is a 50 megapixel their Periscope telephoto lens is 64 megapixels up to three times optically however the six times Zoom should also be equally high quality and then the ultra wide angle lenses is 48 megapixel all in partnership with hosel blood I almost forgot the left side here because it's really important they have the alert slider which they did do away with one of the years but they've had it back for a little while now it has a good amount of texture and this will go from Silent to vibrate to ring and it's always great gives you a little bit of vibration feedback while you're switching it anyways I'm going to run through the startup process and just talk about anything that's noteworthy have the option to set up face or fingerprint let's set up our in display fingerprint scanner setting our thumb down it does give a little bit of a vibration feedback I actually do like the placement of this one it's a little bit higher than some other compan some other companies put it down here but I don't really mind it being a little bit higher it's kind of better for the ergonomics when you're pressing on it it leverages the phone a little bit better when you set set it down a little bit lower it kind of uh releases some of your grip so it gets a little topheavy but anyways that's just a really minor note so all set up and ready to go you can set up face unlock if you'd like to this phone does have oxygen OS which is their skin on top of Android and here we go a nice Emerald background for our emerald colored phone this is the new OnePlus 12 you have a 6.82 in ltpo AMOLED display so it will get up to 120 HZ refresh rate looking really smooth but one of the biggest deals is how bright it gets it has a 4500 nits of peak brightness so I will definitely have to go outside and really test out this screen I expect it to get really bright also very quickly want to point out the screen on the side does have a curve so a little B little bit less real estate to hold on to than say one of the flat displays I'd also like to point out this is a 1440p display and I can already tell the refresh rate is bumped up right out of the box let's double check and see what the screen resolution is so just to point out you can have the resolution set to Auto Select it's at 1080p out of the box which will help with battery life but if you'd like to take full advantage of that Quad HD Plus you'll have to switch it out of the box so just a point uh and then screen refresh rate set to Auto Select which I always leave it on uh so it will bump up and down depending on the type of content shown however you can bump it down to 60 HZ or force it all the way up to 120 HZ up to you also very quickly there is a pre-installed screen protector I highly recommend just leaving this on but peeled it off just for that your satisfaction and mine very quickly Let's test out that in display fingerprint scanner there are some subtle vibrations that feel really nice uh very crisp overall and then with the display off setting our thumb down you don't need to turn the screen on if you do tap it or you'll see here there is always on display so it'll lets you let you know where to set your thumb so very quick and accurate openting up the camera application for the first time you can add the exclusive hustle blood Watermark you can have that on or off when you take your pictures that's up to you uh and then just snapping a couple quick pictures just to see the shutter speed seems to be really quick uh obviously you go to that Ultra wide angle lens same uh result some other modes I'd like to point out first of all in video mode you can shoot all the way up to 8K at 24 frames per second or 4K K 60 frames per second there is that Pro mode so you can really customize your shot jumping through though again in photo that 3x is an optical zoom and then that 6X at least the 6X on the OnePlus open was exceptional as well so I expect very similar really good results out of the 6X and the 12 of course you have your portrait mode however there is a hosle blood tuning for the effect the bokeh effect in the background between the lens lens so the 1X the 2X and the 3x will have take on a lens sort of effect in the backdrop so when you do take the portrait mode the background uh you'll see is is is more blurred here it'll just depend on the specific uh zoom lens that you use and then going into more here's just a quick look at the other camera features you can take advantage of and finally going back into settings just want to point out a few different things you can really customize it uh with wallpapers and style they're always on display icons fonts colors fingerprint animation Edge lighting there's just a lot of different ways to customize your phone even have some special features like split view flexible window quick return quick launch so this one I really like actually quick launch is fun because you can uh press and hold and then let's say you want a quick shortcut I'm just going to pick one um let's go to new conversation okay so now when I go to my fingerprint scanner I set it down and hold and while I hold it will bring up those shortcuts that I have apparently I need to save it but right now the assistant is there out of the box so when you set it down you just keep holding and then you can quickly jump to I think it was five shortcuts that you can customize and finally going into additional settings you have a lot more like gestures and motions screen off gestures swipe with three fingers to take a screenshot there oh that actually worked uh as it should air gestures even raised to wake so there's a ton of settings to dive into that are all really useful when holding the phone with your left hand the alert slider sits just above your left thumb I guess depending on the size of your hands uh but it really doesn't get in the way you kind of have to reach up to switch to the different modes but I do really like having this switch just about one of the only phones that has a slider like this but anyways that is everything I wanted to talk about for now with the OnePlus 12 more content coming soon so be
